Embracing the Gift of Time

It dawned on me that in a matter of days, we'll arrive at the 1 year mark of when we first began sheltering in place. And that gave me pause. Did it give you pause as well?

I remember it clearly, as if it was just a few weeks ago. Pressing pause. But when I look at my life, my mind, my heart, the ways in which I live my life, and how they have radically changed in ways I would never have planned, but also never believed could ever happen... it simultaneously feels like years, or even decades.

Because time, from one perspective, is a measure of transformation. And to take that perspective another step further, time is a measure of healing.

Contrary to popular belief, healing isn't about feeling good and having things your way. It's about surrendering to the twists and turns of your evolution and remembering who you really are deep down inside. And it's about learning to flow with the way things are, instead of how things could be or should be, and accessing hope and faith that there is a bigger picture in motion along the way.

A bigger picture to You. A bigger picture to Me. A bigger picture to the World and the Universe we live in.

And is it a coincidence that in a historic year fraught with challenges and uncertainty, so many of us have had healing breakthroughs? An awakening to a bigger picture, a higher calling...perspective on what life really means to us? To see everything more clearly?

We have been given the gift of time. Time to not run away. Time to find less busy-ness and more stillness. Time to find the deeper roots of who you really are instead of just what's on the surface. Time to see life, each other, and ourselves in a brand new light. Time to see deeper truths and a higher purpose. Time... to be.

And as we accept this time, we accept the possibility of transformation. We accept the possibility of healing. And we accept that while this may not have been the way we planned it, this may be part of a plan we don't yet comprehend.

So what are the fruits? What have you achieved and attained in these past 12 months? What has changed? What has healed? What is now possible? Who have you become?

Take the time to reflect and see more clearly. Take the time to be more aware, more mindful, and more grateful for the mystery of how life actually works. For it's all there, and in truth, always has been.

You may just now have eyes to begin seeing it.
