Growth Happens Beyond your Comfort Zone

One of my favorite quotes is "Fear is the natural reaction of moving closer to the truth."  And it's one that I keep close because in my life, I've found it to be accurate, time and time and time again.

Whenever I'm on the precipice of exceeding my own limits and reaching the next level in my life, whether that next level be in knowledge, strength, wisdom, healing, abundance, resilience, self-love, or self-worth, fear always rises to the surface.

Which makes sense, because we're conditioned to back down from fear.  So it makes the ultimate bouncer!  Because more often than not, at the first hint of fear, most will turn on their heels and move the other direction, back into comfort and security of what they know they know and what's familiar.  And just to be clear, there's nothing wrong with responding to fear in this way.

However, if you desire to grow and evolve, you will have to learn how to face your fears and engage with them constructively in order to lead yourself beyond your own limitations.  Because what lies beyond your fears, beyond your limitations, and beyond your comfortable zone is the opportunity to make the unknown known.  The uncertain certain.  The subconscious conscious.  And the impossible possible!

And while others can suggest ways to do this or share what's worked for them, you will still have to lead yourself beyond your limits.

As one of my mentors and Universal Kabbalah instructors, Martina Coogan, once shared with me when I was paralyzed with fear and doubt, "Jonathan, I cannot shift you.  Only you can shift you."  And while it wasn't what I expected to hear at the time, it was ultimately exactly what I needed to hear.  And those words have also stayed with me, because time and time and time again, I have found them to be accurate.

So if you're facing fear and doubt right now and you're not sure what to do, remember that fear is the natural reaction of moving closer to the truth, whatever that truth may be for you.  And in order to break through to that truth, you will have to exceed your own limitations and move yourself beyond them.  Not just with good intentions, but in your thoughts, your words, and your actions.

And through doing so, rewiring yourself to have more than one option when facing your fears.  You can view them as the immovable object that stops you and turns you back towards your comfort,  Or you can view them as the gatekeepers to new opportunities and possibilities, and use them as the finish line.  You have that power - always have and always will. It's up to you!

PS: And if you want to know what helped me grow into facing my fears by leaps and bounds, ask me about the Empower Thyself Initiation and the Universal Hermetic Ray Kabbalah Ascension Program.
