Keep your Focus on the Light

Rainbow after a storm in the canyons

Good is all around us. In everything and in everyone. And if we allow ourselves to be present to it, the beauty of that goodness will come to light.

Not necessarily because it was hidden in darkness or because it was lacking. But often because we've learned to more readily focus on the darkness rather than on the light. So if goodness seems hard to find right now, whether in yourself, in others, in life's situations, or out in the world, stop for a moment and take a breath.

Ask yourself: Where is my focus and attention?

On the way things should be?

On who you used to be or should've been by now?

On the disparity between the expectations in your mind and the reality of what is?

And then take another breath.

And shift your focus to what is light.

Shift your focus to what inspires gratitude.

Shift your focus and attention to the goodness and beauty that is.
